Devon-rockers Muse were recently confirmed as the Friday night headliners of Glastonbury 2016 and we reckon they could be ending the summer festival season on a sunny high (hopefully!) at Bestival, this September.
Unlike Coldplay (Glastonbury Sunday night headliners), Muse were not confirmed as ‘festival exclusives’ for Glastonbury, which suggests that they may be playing another UK festival this summer. After the calamity that was lead singer Matt Bellamy self-confirming Muse for Bestival last year, we think they will be making for that mistake by taking Bestival’s final headline slot on the Sunday of the event.
In an interview last year, Bellamy said that Muse were to play Download Festival and Bestival in the summer of 2015, the latter turning out to be false. These comments were never dismissed by Bestival organisers, who explained that Muse could fill the Saturday ‘special guest’ slot. This slot was eventually taken by House Of Pain, with some Bestival-goers being left disappointed that Muse weren’t going to play.
If Muse are announced for Bestival they will be joining the likes of headliners The Cure, Major Lazer and Hot Chip for what is set to be another fantastic weekend at Robin Hill Country Park. Stay tuned!
