In a recent interview with Loaded (loaded.co.uk), Isle of Wight Festival organiser John Giddings has said that he has been in talks with legendary musician Prince to play a set of Jimi Hendrix covers at the world famous festival.
John Giddings told Loaded, “I’ve suggested this to Prince for a couple of years. He has seemed quite excited by the idea. I’d love it to happen this year.”
With the Saturday night headliner still under wraps and a whole host of names still to be added to the line-up, there is still every chance that this could become reality, but John Giddings has admitted that it’s tough to find who to talk to on Prince’s behalf. He said, “It’s very hard to know who Prince’s representative is. He’s a bit elusive. But he’s very ahead of the game and one of the most talented musicians the world has turned out. He’s welcome to come any day of the week.”
The line-up already features global megastars in the form of headliners Queen with Adam Lambert, Faithless and Stereophonics, as well as Iggy Pop, The Corrs, Jess Glynne and many more!
